My reviews are aimed at the non POPular characters, the ones that collect a little more dust than others that's where my heart is and those are the Monsters I'll be paying a little tribute; to ENTICE you to use them more.

In all honesty Stoker was one of the first figures I got and the last(as of now since I'm still collecting...) to be on the battlefield, I kept postponing him for a more "stable" Monster. So why would you want to use Stoker? What does he bring? He brigs CHAOS and destruction and tons of adrenaline fun, adrenaline because INSANITY sure keeps you on the edge of your seat. When playing with Stoker it's all about him even the Cabal Power: Feed is for him, he has presence everyone playing is on the lookout for him. You know you are having wicked fun when your friends are wishing for him to go insane so they can fulfill their technical combat tactics with your Stoker. He really shines in a bloody fest when playing Multiplayer horror sessions, there sure are a lot of RAMPAGE attacks going on. One of his best attributes besides high Defense and high Damage is his low Movement Speed, why? because it helps a lot to keep him away from your Monsters when he is Insane and close to your opponent(s) Monsters. What about the Cabal Power: Feed is it worthy to use it? Yes, specially on his 3rd, 4th, 7th, 8th clicks where there is a gap that Vampiric won't be able to fill when healing. Keep him strong and healthy and he will prove you he is a great destroyer. You can always take Bloody Tom to sacrifice since he has a low point value. Now when it comes to a 1 on 1 battle, is Stoker going to be fun as he is in Multiplayer? Depends ... Horrorclix is a 60% or 70% tactics and the rest is up to the dice. Can you really put down Stoker because he has a likeness for insanity? What about all those times you where close to wining with your favorite Monster and you got a Critical Miss? forget about INSANITY being and issue and have fun with it, if there is something Stoker is really good at is making battles memorable and talked about.

I love Stoker! That guy packs a wallop! I agree, he really hangs around a long time when properly played.
Great work Zartan!

Nice review, from the sculpt alone, Stoker is my favorite vampire. Can't go wrong with a crazy, rampaging, blood-sucking beast!

I have to admit my favorite HorrorClix Monsters are the ones from the Starter Set they are special to me, It has to do a lot of how I found out about the game and fell in love with it. My love story with HorrorClix began with Marvel Comics, I am a huge comic fan and mostly a Marvel fan, all my life Marvel has been part of me. One day as I was looking online for pics of my favorite Marvel character "Baron Helmut Zemo" I saw a little figure from a game, did a little research and found out about HeroClix it looked pretty interesting but expensive. One day I went to friend's house and he had in display a Starter Set, of course it caught my attention and I dumbly said to my friend that it looked like the HeroClix figures, I didn't know anything about WizKids or it's demise, my friend had that Starter Set partially opened, it was a gift from the father of one of his girlfriends or something. I checked the Starter Set, saw the map, the tokens the Plot Twists and was blown I wanted to know more, and I did. The thing I like the most about HorrorClix is how it made me feel. The feeling of being really interested in something was a feeling I had not had in a very long time. Bane Wolf:
I can proudly say that amongst my friends the name Bane Wolf is synonymous with fear. Despite his relative low Defense this guy brings what his name implies, death, ruin and destruction. Stamina and Rake may not seem much but a perfectly planned Rake and a Frenzy for a separate 1 and 1 Damage can bring your opponent's Monster Defense down ready to be finished. His most valuable attribute is with out a doubt his 11 Attack that alone is enough to cause some major Damage, his 3 Damage on his first 3 Clicks can ruin most of your opponents plans. His damage never drops below 2 making sure that if he is going to die he is going to die with honor. For 35 point value this guy is more useful than some fancy Monsters with high point values. Stamina makes sure Bane Wolf stays around for a bit, if you are putting him on the front lines it won't disappoint. If you use Bane Wolf for latter to clean as your other Monsters battled it out, he is a guaranteed sweep cleaner with that 11 Attack. If you are not using and planing a Rake you are using him wrong. Rake is power almost nobody uses and it catches opponents of guard, plan your Rake with a Frenzy with a recently Vulnerable Monster and attack again in your next turn leaving Bane Wolf Vulnerable too, and you'll hear a lot of "what?!" when your opponent realizes he's just been dealt a total of 5 Damage with your Bane Wolf. Of course planning that Combo is not an easy task. All in all Bane Wolf is fun to use, to me it's a pretty solid piece, immune to most Plot Twist that cause Damage, so if the "Dice Gods" are not with you in that particular game, at least you can kill a lot of Victims with ease.

I totally agree, the starter set monsters are somewhat brutal! Chainsaw was one of my favourites in earlier games.

Chainsaw if probably the only Monster from the Starter Set that I won't be reviewing. He has been reviewed more than enough times and the Monster from the Starter Set that has seen more battles than the rest. Chainsaw is like Pizza, everyone likes it!

While the Gremlin is not tearing engine planes apart creating mass hysteria on skies(Twilight Zone), he can help you tear opposing monsters apart for your team. The Gremlin can be a valuable asset in your team, if you play him right. Although MASS HYSTERIA can be fun and a bit useful, that's not where this Monsters shines the most. For 70 points you can go with a more "solid" Monster, even one with Invulnerable, but that wouldn't be fun. Gremlin is one of those Monsters you save for later in the battle. But it's VERY important you make him Blooded or it won't do you much good. Have him leap around the map erratically earlier on the map, fooling your opponent making him believe that he's there for the 2 extra Plot Twists or for MASS HYSTERIA, make sure he's out of reach of any Monsters but close enough to the battle. Remember he has 7 Movement Speed. When you feel the time is right and the battle is well advanced it's to surprise your opponent with Gremlin! (If you are in an outdoor map even better but he can do well enough on indoor maps as well.)
Time him right and have him Frenzy Vulnerable Monsters or battle weaken Monsters, jump in and get out and Frenzy some other Monster far away, 7 [boot]Movement Speed is more than most Monsters have. Have him Frenzy all over the map, never leaving him on a situation where he can be attacked, your Frenzies have a high chance to hit, REFLEXES will take care of that, but just do Frenzies don't get greedy, In and out that's the technique. REFLEXES and LEAP/CLIMB are a very powerful combination for a Monster to have. It's most likely your opponent won't be able to catch Gremlin and will be making your team's job a hell lot easier and...and it will tick your opponent off Not to mention having 2 extra Plot Twist is always a good thing, so for a not so cheap value of 70 points you can have a very fun match, fresh and surprisingly horrible for your opponent.

Bah, Nightmares Gremlin sucks. I was so excited when I saw him on the checklist, then I pulled him. Good review though and of I do ever play him I will know what to do. Beautiful artwork on the monster pictures.
Don't know if you do requests; Yama is one of my all time favourites. I would really like your take on him.

She used to love Snack Pack as part of her team. Until it encountered "Hairspray Blowtorch". 1 Click kill. Now she's more careful when selecting his victims...

I haven't played HrC with the missus in such a long time. She probably got fed up of losing.

Augh, I wouldn't be able to live that down. My better half would gloat for a month if she ever beat me, I pack plenty of re roll PT'S when playing her.
