Okay, you got a big model that looks a little silly on a single base and have no doubles?
No problem! Follow these steps and have on in as little as 20 mins.
Take two figures you don't like/need, and rip them off their bases. file down the glue that remains and use a knife to carefully remove the dials.
Take some plasicard (or cardboard from a cereal box if you don't have any) and putting the bases together, draw around them using a marker pen onto the card.
Remove the bases and draw extra curves for strength later. Use scissors to cut this shape out.
Line up the dial slot and draw it on the template, cut this out also.
Apply super glue to the edge of one of the bases
Stick this base to the other making sure the HrC base dial slot is at the top of the 'peanut' shape.
Apply super glue to the plastic/cereal box template making sure all edges are covered.
Stick this into your preglued bases making sure the dial slots on both pieces line up correctly. Don't worry about any overhang we're going to clean it up with a craft file.
File away the overhanging template edges for a flush finish.
turn the base over and apply greenstuff/milliput to the areas shown. Smooth it out using water on your finger.
Grab some more Plasticard/cereal box and and a HrC dial and using marker pen draw around the dial onto the card. Cut this out.
Continue snipping away at this new template until it fits into the rear dial holder.
One it fits perfectly, super glue it in place and return your usable dial into the front dial holder.
Size comparison using Nessie....
Using this technique you could make team dials, colossal dials.... possibilities huh?
Enjoy!
